Experience

Amy is a clinical psychologist who enjoys working with children, adolescents and families. She has a particular interest in working with children with anxiety, Autism and ADHD. Amy has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of Queensland and a Master of Clinical Psychology at Griffith University. She has experience working within community and hospital settings which has provided her with the opportunity to work with a range of psychological concerns. Furthermore, Amy is experienced in administering a range of psychometric assessments to assess for learning disorders. She has facilitated group programs for children and young people to assist with social understanding and anxiety and enjoys supporting parents to implement positive and effective strategies.

Amy can provide evidenced based treatment and support for a range of issues including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) 

  • Autism

  • Low self-esteem

  • Learning difficulties

  • Behavioural difficulties

Amy is trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum (MIGDAS) and conducts diagnostic assessments for autism for children aged 4-17 years. Amy’s approach to therapy is client-centred and strengths-based. She understands the importance of working collaboratively with parents and ensures that strategies implemented are suited to both the child and family. Amy is a STAP accredited clinical supervisor and is available for supervision for clinicians outside of the Brighter Futures team.

Amy works at the Bulimba clinic on Mondays and Tuesdays and at the Mount Gravatt East clinic on some Saturdays.
