Experience

Courtney completed her Master of Clinical Psychology in 2008 at Griffith University. Her research focused on neuroticism and defensive responding in adolescents. Courtney has 15 years of experience and has worked across research, academic, private and community sectors. Courtney has previously assisted in various research programs assessing the utility of different treatment approaches for reducing alcohol misuse and depression. She has undertaken extensive training in various modalities and utilises numerous evidence-based treatments including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Sensory Modulation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy.

Courtney understands the importance of collaboration with clients and utilising their personal strengths and intentions within therapy. Courtney has previously volunteered through St Vincent de Paul for interventions such as Safer Families and the Family Plus Initiative and continues to volunteer for Girl Guides Queensland where she is Leader of a Brownie Guide Unit. 

Courtney works at Brighter Futures Psychology on fortnightly Saturdays in our Mount Gravatt East clinic.
